Google Video turned into video searcher

Online Video service Google Video have turned into video searcher, which provides links not only to its own content but also to the video, posted in other video services. Since January search results on Google Video have been displaying links to videos on YouTube. And now a new version of the service have begun indexing video from sites Metacafe, MySpace, Yahoo and BBC Video, reports Ars Technica. Links to YouTube and Google Video in search results are accompanied by a video for previewing, and links to other video services have small photos with clips from the video. So far Google Video indexes only a limited number of sites, but not all existing online video services. But the biggest problem is that the service can not identify duplicate videos, thus, users often see in search results links to the same content on different video hostings. In July 2006, Google Video was added with new features: internet users have free access to commercial content, for viewing which they previously had to pay 0,3-14,99 dollar per clip. Due to the service â€œSponsor videoâ€ users can view the videos, divided into several groups, cartoons, interviews, documentaries, classic movies, sports and music news. In addition, users now are allowed to assess videos on a five-point scale, tag and comment on each spot, send your favorite videos to friends, etc. Even further innovations in Google Video have been expected since Google acquired YouTube. The most popular video service was acquired by the search giant in October last year. The cost of the purchase was $1.65 billion. The enhancement of Google Videoâ€™s functionality was announced by their officials at the beginning of this year, so, now their planes seem to be embodied.
