Microsoft developed OS for travelers

Microsoft Corporation introduced its first OS for portable devices supporting GPS, reports PC World.
The new product was called Windows Embedded NavReady. The purpose of the new OS is promoting the popularity of portable navigation devices by means of improving already existing and introducing new opportunities.
The system aims to improve intercommunication of devices via Bluetooth, as well as to optimize the flow of traffic. It has a built-in Live Search. Among other things, there is the support of the possibility of using PND as an additional display for laptops running under Windows Vista. This is achieved through the SideShow technology.
By the way, it has become recently known that the company Intel is working on the built-in car navigation system based on Linux.
