OpenOffice.org for Mac: first alpha-version

The team of developers OpenOffice.org has released the first alpha-version of the office package OpenOffice Aqua, which is designed especially for Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger). Remember, earlier for OpenOffice to launch, Mac users had to use the system X11, which has slowed the work of application and, in general, by order of magnitude greater has complicated its running. This version of OpenOffice is under development for six years already. However, there are 154 bugs in an alpha-version, which can damage the information on your computer when using OpenOffice Aqua for work with them, developers are warning. In all, 154 errors are known at this time, the errors of different importance. According to the developers, the most crucial are the following:
The lack of capability to print documents; The export to PDF format is incorrect;
If OpenOffice is in “fumbled” folder, it will not start;
Copy / paste operations do not always work;
If you try to exit OpenOffice can be hanged. OpenOffice Aqua is available in two versions: for Intel Mac and PowerPC Mac. It is interesting, that download can be done both by using HTTP, and through P2P-protokol BitTorrent.
