17th June 2007
Parallels Company has released an update of an application Parallels Desktop, which allows users of Mac based on Intel processors to use Mac OS X along with Windows, Linux and other systems. Parallels Desktop 3.0 offers the following new features:
Opening of Windows files through Mac programs and accordingly Mac files by Windows means using Parallels SmartSelect tool;
Navigation on Windows folders and access to files through Parallels Explorer without having to start Windows;
Support of 3D-graphics, which allows you to run games on Mac, which previously were available only to PC owners;
The use of Parallels Snapshots tool for protecting Windows.
To the disappointment of current users of Parallels Desktop, for update they`ll have to pay $ 49.99, though the February update was supplied for free. The full price is $ 79.99. In the near future Parallels will have to face with a new competitor. Today a demo version of Fusion application should appear developed by VMWare Company. The release of the final version is scheduled for the late summer.
