A Dutch Worldmax operated has recently launched in Amsterdam the first in Europe sales network WiMax, providing access to the Internet while moving. Created wireless network aims to compete with such companies as Vodafone, KPN and T-Mobile. So far the new network works only in the centre of Amsterdam, Worldmax further plans to expand the coverage area. Worldmax should make its competitors worry, because the revenue from voice connection is constantly falling, forcing operators to expand other services such as Internet access.
Previously WiMax technology allowed to work only in the absence of movement of the subscriber, but Worldmax managed to overcome this problem. Further expansion of the network in the country would require investing hundreds of millions of dollars. The financial objectives of Worldmax are kept in secret. By the way, among investors of Worldmax there are such companies as Intel and Greenfield Capital. It is known that the monthly unlimited Internet access for notebooks will cost €20.
