Safari 3: 1 million downloads within 48 hours

Despite the apparent failure of security and a lack of significant advantages before the competitors, Safari Beta 3 for Windows has been downloaded over one million times in the first 48 hours after birth, said Apple. However, talks of the successful launch of Safari is not really suitable, because Firefox 2, for instance, in the first night after the release was downloaded by more than two million users.
As it turned out, the use of fatty fonts automatically “kills” text, making it unavailable for reviewing. For example, because of this flaw Yahoo home page becomes a set of pictures, which is very difficult to navigate. Performance of Safari also was doubtful among many users. Perhaps iBench benchmark 5.0, which measured work of the browser, could not objectively evaluate the possibilities of Safari. “We believe Windows users will be pleasantly surprised, when they see how using Safari, you can quickly and easily surf the internet, - said at WWDC 2007 Steve Jobs, the head of Apple. - Hundreds of millions of people are already working with iTunes, and we hope Safari with its improved performance will continue this tradition.”
As can be seen, the surprise for Apple PC users did not work out.
