Sheer torture of Need for Speed developers came to an end
29th June 2008
The General Director of EA John Riccitiello said that the long hard road of the developers of Need for Speed (the studio EA Vancouver) finally came to an end.
And the project Need for Speed: Undercover, which will be released before the end of this year, will be the last in the so-called 12 -month development cycle.
For the last eight years, the guys from EA Vancouver have been working hard, producing one game of Need for Speed per year. As a result, this race could not but affect the quality of the games. John noted that it was because of the tight deadlines, that NFS Pro Street (which was published in November last year) received very mediocre reviews and did not become a hit.
He also explained that the new project Need for Speed: Undercover will be much better than Pro Street. John pointed out that EA expects really much from the simulator.
