Skype was accused in the infringement of the patent

Net2Phone company, American provider of Internet- telephony, accused the competing company Skype with the infringement of the patent. As reports Reuters agency, which corresponds initiation petition was started on 1 June into the American circuit court in Newark (state of New Jersey). In action Skype and its owner (company eBay) are charged with the fact that service Skype, which gives the users of the Internet the possibility to make calls from the computer to the computer, disrupts patent of Net2Phone (number ' 704). In its initiation petition Net2Phone requires carrying out with respect to Skype termless judicial prohibition to the assignment of this service and compensation of losses. Company Skype - the owner of most popular Internet- telephony system in the world, was acquired by the auction giant eBay during October 2005; purchase costed to eBay company 2.6 billion US dollars. Up to the beginning of the May of this year in network IP- telephony Skype there were registered more than 100 million users.
