Stellarium 0.9.0: stars on monitor screen
17th June 2007
A new version of the free program Stellarium has been released. The program is unusual in function and represents a 3D planetarium. Its interface is represented in the form of the Earth landscape and the starry sky above the Earth. The user can choose a place on the Earth, from which he wants to watch the stars and also the time of the day.
Of course, it is the best to look at the stars at night, they are seen well. But, being carried away, you can stay even till dawn, and then the program visualizes for you a realistic Sunrise, and you will be able to see the stars slowly disappearing from the sky. Stellarium can display the names of constellations, and also their images, and points the four corners of the Earth.
In the latest version they improved the offsetting in the program space, there is now the possibility to choose several constellations at the same time and they increased the stars catalogue.
