9th June 2008
The developers of the project KDE, the popular open graphical environment for UNIX-and GNU/Linux-systems, announced the release of the first beta version of its new product KDE 4.1 Beta1.
Among the key innovations in KDE 4.1 the authors point out: significant improvements in the system Plasma, which deals with the menu, panels and a desktop in KDE (support of multiple panels with customizable sizes, update Kickoff, a modified dialogue “Run Command”), updates among KDE4-applications.
The final release of KDE 4.1 is scheduled for July, 29, 2008, just 6 months later the release of KDE 4.0.
