3ds Max 2009 Creativity Extension: new opportunities of 3ds Max

Autodesk Company has released the first extension for 3ds Max 2009. It is called Creativity Extension and adds to the program three major innovations: new tools for optimization of 3D-models, additional means of working with partitions and advanced set of tools for work with sound. New ProOptimizer modifier is developed on the basis of a well-known supplement Polygon Cruncher. With it you can perform optimization of high polygonal models, imported from programs like Mudbox. Modifier has such possibilities as batch processing of files and objects, management of the number of surface models, saving of all UV-coordinates, saving of details and symmetry. A new set of tools for working with partitions PFlowAdvanced is nothing else than an improved version of plug-in Particle Flow Tools: Box#1, created by Oleg Bayborodin. Oleg was invited to work in Autodesk and during the past year he was engaged in improving the integration of its plug-in to the program. PFlowAdvanced set includes 12 new operators for Particle Flow. Among new features there are the means of drawing particles on surfaces of the objects, realized by Particle Paint, Birth Paint, Placement Paint, Birth Texture and Mapping Object operators; new utilities, due to which there is the possibility to synchronize layers, to preserve the flow as a template, to remove operators automatically which are not used, correct caching system, fix particles at the object by more convenient way than by the operator Position Object. In addition, it is worth while noting the possibility of grouping of particles using new operators Group Selection, Group and Split Group; improved means of automatically save (new operator Express Save integrated with autosave system 3ds Max); advanced means for determining shapes of particles. It is noteworthy that PFlowAdvanced is compatible with scenes created with the help of plug-in Particle Flow Tools: Box#1. Finally, the third novelty of Creativity Extension set is a set of tools for work with sound ProSound, which is based on the plug-in Sound Trax from Boomer Labs Companny. Due to this innovation, 3ds Max supports loading of up to 100 audio files simultaneously, with the possibility of managing the volume of each track and its animation. Due to new opportunities, you can play sound back to front, synchronize sound with animation, which exists in the scene, and normalize audio at the outlet. ProSound supports six channels PCM and compressed sound in AVI and WAV formats. Also the support of MaxScript is worth noting â€“ many advanced tools for sound management can be realized through 46 scripting commands. 3ds Max 2009 Creativity Extension is distributed among participants of Autodesk subscription program and is not available for free download. The new expansion will be shown at SIGGRAPH \'2008 exibition, which begins on August 11 in Los Angeles.
