Microsoft Robotics Studio: new version of the environment

Microsoft Corporation has announced a new version of Robotics Studio development environment designed for creating specialized applications for robotic platforms.
The first version of Robotics Studio was officially presented in December last year. The package allows developing programs for a variety of hardware platforms. Robotics Studio has tools for visual programming, as well as 3D virtual environment with physical engine by the company Ageia Technologies designed for imitation of the work of robots.
The new version of Robotics Studio indexed as 1.5, in addition to the general improvement there is a support of devices running under Windows CE 6.0 Embedded and Windows Mobile 6. Besides, Microsoft has improved programming tools and enhanced 3D virtual environment, imitating the physics of the real world.
The environment Microsoft Robotics Studio is used by enthusiasts and independent researchers, as well as by many well-known companies including iRobot, Larsen & Toubro InfoTech, LEGO Group, Robosoft, etc. In addition, the package Robotics Studio was chosen Princeton University team that develops software for robomobile, which is going to participate in the Grand Challenge competition. Rally of robots Grand Challenge 2007, organized by the DARPA, is going to be held in November this year, the place is to be announced later.
