Microsoft voiced the exact date of releasing Windows Server 2008

Microsoft Corporation named the exact date of presentation of a new server operating system, Windows Server 2008. Windows Server 2008 is currently on the stage of beta testing. The new OS has interface based on the command line PowerShell, improved firewall and the console Server Manager for enhanced remote management. Program`s platform supports virtualization technology and multi-core processors.
An approximate date of releasing the final version of Windows Server 2008 was appointed at the end of this year. But a week ago at the World Conference for Microsoft partners Chief Operating Officer Kevin Turner announced that the final version of Windows Server 2008 will be released on February 27. Server operating system will be presented during a special event held in Los Angeles. Simultaneously with Windows Server 2008 two other Microsoft products are expected: SQL Server database and the development environment of applications Visual Studio 2008. According to Turner, this will be the largest presentation of new versions of the corporation, which is planned for the next year. Turner also said that next year Microsoft is planning to expand the affiliate network and increase investment in researches and developments.
