Mozilla released Firefox 3.0 alpha version
7th July 2007
Aplpha version Firefox 3.0 has been released - Gran Paradiso Alpha 6, which is the first step in the development of the next version of Firefox, which will be based on the next generation Mozilla engine Gecko 1.9. Gran Paradiso Alpha 6 is available for download only for the purpose of testing and is intended for developers and testers. Current users of Mozilla Firefox should not use Gran Paradiso Alpha 6, say officials of the company. On the whole, Firefox does not seem better off so far. Recently, the company stopped support of Firefox 1.5, while Firefox 2.0 has not yet gained sufficient popularity. While competitors are involved into beta versions contest, Microsoft is not willing to share information on the next generation of Internet Explorer presented in the eighth version of the browser. The company has their own team of beta-testers whose opinions do not appear to be sufficient to the software giant. However, the test version of IE 8 will also be available to the general public, its release is scheduled for the end of this year.
