13th July 2007
A new test version of the converter OpenXML / ODF Translator for Excel and Powerpoint has been released. The converter is designed to convert documents in Open XML into Open Document. Let`s recall that the Open XML format is used in Office 2007 by default. OpenDocument is the format in which documents are saved in the OpenOffice and some other programs. It was adopted as a standard for office applications by OASIS (Organization for the Advancement of Structured Information Standards), and even passed ISO certification.
Open XML Translator is an open code progect. It is available on the web site SourceForge.net and distributed under BSD license. The program can be used for free. The latest version supports links, diagrams, graphics, styles and comments in Excel documents. As for Powerpoint documents, the latest version has added support of marking templates, field for entering text, paragraphs, tabs and spaces when formatting texts and paragraphs, marked and numbered lists.
