Open beta testing of Norton 2009 line is begun

Symantec Corporation has announced the beginning of open beta-testing of programs Norton Internet Security 2009 and Norton AntiVirus 2009. The new products have over 300 improvements. Norton 2009 occupies less operation memory and disk space than the previous version, and also uses a new technology that allows rationalize the process of scanning. Besides, Norton 2009 will provide rapid process of updates of antivirus databases distributed in a mode close to real time. In Norton Internet Security 2009 and Norton AntiVirus 2009 technology Norton Insight is applied, which eliminates the need for scanning some files. This technology, which uses the data of millions of members of Norton Community, allows to Norton product not to scan files that are used in most computers and statistically reliable. New versions are equipped with some features that guarantee optimal convenience to users. For example, gamers will appreciate the new “silent” mode, in which warning messages and updates are disabled in order to avoid interruption or slowdown of the system operation during the game or movie playing. Among other improvements of Norton 2009 one can distinguish pulsed updates, which ensure rapid response to new threats, due to pulsed downloads of new signatures in mode resembled to real time. Frequent loads of smaller updates increase the quality of protection and performance.
