RenderMan Studio and RenderMan for Maya 2 from Pixar

Pixar Animation Studios Company has announced the release of two new products â€“ the second version of the plug-in RenderMan for Maya and new application RenderMan Studio 1.0. Both programs were presented in last year's SIGGRAPH exhibition in August and, according to the announcement, were scheduled to appear at the end of the past year, but were released only now.
RenderMan Studio 1.0 combines the simplicity of plugin RenderMan for Maya and the advanced capabilities of RenderMan Artist Tools, connector RenderMan for Maya. The program can also be used as a standalone application and as an interface for visualization systems, on which RenderMan Pro Server 13.0 is used. The programme includes an extended version of RenderMan for Maya, with the possibility of visualization in RIB format, Slim module, designed to manage shaders and create them, the system for managing distributed rendering of Alfred. There is the support of Maya 8.5 for plug-in RenderMan for Maya 2.0. Besides, the program has many improvements, including the organization of multithreaded data processing, optimization of tracking algorithm, the improved checking of wool and caustic, new effects of the camera. RenderMan for Maya 2.0 is available for Windows XP and Mac OS X at a price of $ 995. the price of RenderMan Studio 1.0 starts at $ 2000, it is available for Windows XP, Mac OS X and Linux. All holders of licences of RenderMan Artist Tools 6.5 can use RenderMan Studio 1.0 for free.
