Softimage XSI 7 will manage objects using flow charts

Softimage Company is going to introduce a new version of its pack Softimage|XSI at Siggraph 2008 exhibition, which will take place on August the 12th. The pack Softimage|XSI 7 offers users a unique open platform, called ICE, which will manipulate models and animated sequences without programming in classic form, that is, without writing a code. New visual interface and easy model of programming the elements on the basis of cross-points control will give users the opportunity to create the most complex special effects shortly. Included in ICE platform parallel processing technology GigaCore II provides a significant improvement of the performance of any modern graphic station with multicored processors, as Softimage says. The scope of delivery of Softimage XSI 7 pack will include extensive libraries of ICE blanks for creating effects based on the systems of particles and deformations. Also, users will be able to exchange their blanks in the form of ICE open file of XML format, or in the form of closed binary files which will ensure the protection of intellectual property. The publication of ICE blanks in the form of XML files will allow all interested to study in detail the structure and algorithms of work. Among other features of Softimage XSI 7 pack one can note the support of a new rendering system mental ray 3.6, a new system of tying Delta II elements and RTS III technology (Real-Time Shading), which provides the simultaneous use of fragment and apical shaders in one cross-point. Also in Softimage XSI 7 they implemented color management. New licensing mechanism no longer uses keys and offers the opportunity to continue the work while temporary lack of license.
