Symantec has made global analysis of spam

A month before the opening of the Olympic Games 2008 in Peking spammers have begun to exploit the themes of upcoming sports events, sending messages as if in the name of Peking organizing committee. The message says that its recipient is among the winners of the prize drawing, to receive awards he needs to follow the attached instruction and provide personal information. This and not only this is mentioned in global record of Symantec. According to the company, the overall spam level remains at level of 80%, for comparison two years ago it did not exceed 56%. Europe remains the main source of spam; from here 43% of all messages are issued. On the second place is North America with 28%. In Japan, special easy-to-read and of minimum volume spam is growing the popularity, which leads to pages, adapted to mobile phones screens. By the subject 22% of messages are relate to promote of products and services, 19% - various financial information, 17% of letters belong to the medical category.
