A beta version of DivX 6.7 supporting 1080HD
31st August 2007
About a year ago the first 1080HD- coder from DivX came out, supporting resolution of 1920 x 1080. It was a beta DivX 6.4, providing support of 1080i and 1080p, but not including all features of the official standard 1080. New beta DivX 6.7 fully supports the standard 1080.
The new version provides the correct decoding of all previously created video files, and also contains some additional features, such as converting files from one format into another on the fly. The codec also has built-in tools for the parties` ratio, which, for example, allows viewing video 16:9 as 16:11 without using the post-processing features of the player.
During the beta testing period, all tools of the codec can be used for free.
