Adobe may create a new office package
23rd August 2007
Adobe may release its own office package. This idea was once mentioned in his interview by one of the managers of the company Mike Downey. He said that the company has built a platform that enables the developing functional applications both for desktop and work in the browser. “Despite the company has never announced its intention to move in the direction of office applications, I can not exclude such a possibility,” - he added.
The platform, mentioned in this interview, is Adobe Integrated Runtime (AIR), formerly known as Apollo. The platform allows developers to use the code written for work of applications in the browser and transfer it to the programs for the desktop. Platform AIR has already attracted the attention of many observers and, according to the experts, can be the starting point for office applications.
