Each third PC replaces Windows Vista to XP
20th August 2008
Windows Vista is replaced by XP on each third office machine, reports InfoWorld referring to the results of their studies.
Total study covered more than three thousand computers around the world. At 35 percent of them Windows Vista was replaced by Windows XP.
Despite the fact that Windows XP sales officially ended on June, 30, a loophole in the Microsoft licensing system allows conducting legal downgrade of the operating system from Windows Vista Business and Vista Ultimate to Windows XP Professional. In the future, if the user decides to abandon Windows XP, he can restore Windows Vista for free.
The reluctance of organizations to move to Windows Vista is due to the fact that a number of programs is optimized to run under Windows XP, and their adaptation to the new operating system requires certain time and expenditures. In addition, Windows Vista has high system requirements.
