20th August 2008
Immediately on several Internet forums there were reported on a new non-standard hacker attack, damaging the clipboard of the operating system. The most unfortunate about that is the virus`s universality: its damaging ability covers all operating systems: Windows, Linux, and even Mac OS.
The virus attacks such contemporary popular among PC users function as “copy/paste”. By means of WEB-scripts hackers integrate into the clipboard one or several links to pre-prepared site with malware.
This type of attack contains other dangers as well. One of them is a new method of attacking, while the second one is that a link to a malicious site does not disappear from the clipboard after reboot.
At the moment being, most users that have already been subjected to attack, report that the bulk of links into a buffer lead to the site xp-vista-update.net.
Antivirus security specialists report that now they are trying to define the attack essence and find its source.
Meanwhile, those who do not want to become a victim of hackers, are strongly recommended to turn off an opportunity of executing JavaScript in the browser`s settiings.
