HP Wins the Bid with Dell
31st August 2010
It has been in the news for some days regarding who would between Dell and Hewlett-Packard's (HP) would win the bid by 3PAR and now the wait is over as HP has finally managed to win the long awaited bid by 3PAR. This has been confirmed by the Storage Technology Firm 3PAR late this Friday. According to their confirmation, their board has accepted HP's bid over Dell, as they offered $30 while Dell offered $27. It is to be noted here that the bidding competition went on for a week and finally the Friday turned out to be a lucky day for HP.
As soon as the bid was accepted, the board of directors notified Dell for not accepting their bid as it does not meet their criterion, which has been defined earlier by the 3PAR's previous merger agreement with Dell. This led the entire board to vote unanimously to terminate the agreement with the Dell and entering into a new agreement with the HP, which has been confirmed by a 3PAR statement. It surely is not good news for Dell, but HP must be celebrating their new agreement.
