id is not interested in creating Quake MMOG

Talking with staff of Shacknews, a president of id Software, John Carmack, said that the company has repeatedly received appeals from publishers, who ask them to make a new network multiplayer game based on the popular franchisee Quake. Carmack denied.
According to him, id is not interested in this genre. The specialist is familiar with the process of creating MMOG, but he is also aware of considerable risks following such products.
id Software is now actively promoting a browser-shooter Quake Live, which is juat a porting of Quake 3 Arena to a new platform. Carmack claims that the project required much more effort than anticipated.
