Research in Motion, the Blackberry maker has said that it is still ready to work with India, in order to support the need of this country, which is related to the lawful access to the services, which are of encrypted nature. The ban on Blackberry in India is about to due right after 31st August and at this point of time RIM and Indian government are having talks over this issue.
Indian government has been demanding to have the permission of monitoring the secure email and messaging services, which are offered and provided by RIM. On the other hand, RIM is still paying stress on its rules and regulations, which says that the firm does not go for specific and individual deals with any country. Now the firm has given an option to the Indian government, which states that RIM would lead the industry forum, which is going to focus on supporting the lawful and legal access requirements and demands for all the government and law enforcement agencies.
The firm has said that this kind of forum would also include the participation of other telecom companies. With the efforts and coordination of all the firms along with the Indian government, such plans and policies would be developed, which will prevent the misuse of encrypted technologies.
