David Kirkpatrick, author of The Facebook Effect, has stated that, out of the data coming from the iPhone for all the applications, the heaviest comes for the Facebook, which outnumbers many other applications being offered in the phone. This is the reason that the latest version of Facebook for iPhone has so much new to offer like "Places". Yes, you can share your location with your family and friends, wherever you will check in, letting them know about your whereabouts. For now the application is only for U.S., but hopefully it will be extended to all other places. In addition to this, improvements are constantly being made to make the use of Facebook on iPhone smoother and efficient including enhanced performance while posting commenting, stories and liking etc.
