31st August 2010
Lenovo, the China's largest PC maker is busy in making the new gaming console for China called eBox. This console is being developed by the Beijing eedoo Technlogy LTD, which is basically owned by Lenovo. Eedoo was founded in July with the sole purpose to provide entertainment and gaming to the Chinese families. One of the staff members of the Eedoo confirmed that the eBox was in development, but further details were not provided. According to the Eedoo's website, eBox has been in development for more than two years and it's built to connect with the internet and operate by reading body gestures.
According to the website, games for eBox will not require the use of controllers, but it will use physical motions. According to the further details, the company is looking forward to release the product in China by the end of this year and then it plans to sell it across Asia and other overseas markets. Until now, many other popular gaming consoles such as Sony's play station 3 have not been officially sold in the mainland market because of Chinese government's ban. But, Lenovo is hoping to target the 120 urban households with this new gaming console.
