Linspire has released Freespire 2.0

The other day, the company Linspire released the second version of OS Freespire established on the basis of Ubuntu Linux distribution kit, with various proprietary software, such as drivers and codecs.
More than a year has passed since the company from San Diego announced the plans for splitting the development of Linspire into commercial and free branches. Linspire hopes that the free version will promote the Linux operating system.
Linspire claims that proprietary software from different sources provides users with additional convenience. Freespire 2.0 also supports access to CNR- server, which allows â€œin one clickâ€ installing software with open source. Also, Freespire without additional configuration supports large number of devices, file types and multimedia data, including MP3, Windows Media, Real Networks, Java, Flash, ATI, nVidia, Wi-Fi, etc., including the Open XML technology, that allows, when working with the OpenOffice package, store and read MS Word files in the format .docx.
â€Freespire 2.0, having taken Ubuntu as the basis, complements it with various software, drivers and codecs for creating the completed product, meant for most desktop PCs,â€ - commented Linspire President, Larry Kettler.
The company continues developing commercial versions of its OS Linspire aimed meant for an average user. On the other hand, Freespire will suit computer enthusiasts who are interested in Linux.
