Microsoft SQL Server 2008: goes on sale soon

Microsoft Corporation announced the coming up release of a new version of SQL Server 2008, and the availability of a trial version for clients of services of Microsoft Development Network and TechNet.
The platform will go in sale at the end of September.
One of the most curious innovations is the Management system, based on the use of politics. Administrators can create sets of policies working throughout the whole organization, and configure all working copies SQL Server, taking into account these policies.
The component Performance Data Collector (PDC) will provide the possibility of collecting information on DBMS performance. The feature Resource Governor will allow IT professionals independently distribute available resources to cope with various challenges.
The list of improvements also includes expanded possibilities of auditing and also improves mechanisms of analysis and generating reports.
The new SQL Server will be available in seven different editions, from full-functional Enterprise-version to lite Express and Compact. The latter two are distributed for free.
