SIGGRAPH 2007: Carrara 6 is announced

At the exhibition SIGGRAPH 2007 the 6th version of the 3D- editor Carrara was presented. Currently, the product is being developed by the company DAZ, which bought the program from the previous owner, Eovia. This will be the first major release of the program under the brand DAZ. Key innovations:
New primitive Ocean, designed for imitating the ocean surface;
A new engine nonlinear animation, it allows creating some frames, which can be used repeatedly and be combined with other animation tracks. Using this feature, you can, for example, force the already walking character to wave his hand;
Hair`s dynamics, or, in other words, a realistic simulation of its behavior;
Symmetric modeling, which enables you to edit both sides of a model simultaneously;
Improved Open GL engine, in particular, support of texture maps with alpha channel;
Modeling by means of displacement;
Support of all models and other content available to DAZ Studio. The access to it can be obtained directly from the built-in browser Carrara;
Imitating solid`s behaviour in case of crashing and in other situations;

The new version of Carrara 6 is expected in about a month.
