Support of Blu-ray in the next Windows update

The coming up addition to the Microsoft Windows operating system will provide users with the ability to record data to optical media Blu-ray without using third-party manufacturers` tools.
API-interface, providing support of the new generation format will be included into the package Windows Feature Pack for Storage, which is currently on the beta-testing stage.
In addition to supporting Blu-ray, the product Windows Feature Pack for Storage provides an opportunity to restrict access to portable media (such as USB Flash) using certificates or passwords, as well as has support of new format smart cards` drivers (for example, ICCD / CCID).
Microsoft is going to release a package of Windows Feature Pack for Storage for operating systems Windows XP and Windows Vista. The release date has not yet been announced.
