Virtual actors no longer distinguishable from living ones!

The Company Image Metrics, which developed animation of characters for the game Grand Theft Auto, has presented a virtual actress Emily, who is practically impossible to distinguish from real, alive girls. A new human simulation technology allows the characters to imitate the most subtle details of facial expressions.
Virtual Emily was created on the basis of a video containing conversation with one of the companyâ€™s representative. Engineers of Image Metrics split human movings into dozens of small groups and provided each group with their management system. After that, all movements, gestures and facial expressions were recreated in the computer model. In doing so, the developers have managed to overcome major difficulties in computer animation, including unnatural skin gloss and mechanical movements symmetry.
