19th August 2010
On this Tuesday, Microsoft announced that now Microsoft's Windows Live Messenger users will be able to send instant messages to the Facebook friends who are logged on to their Facebook account. Microsoft has always been unique in its services and now again it is the first of the instant messaging service to connect directly to the Facebook chat. This service is basically the outcome of the idea to evolve the messenger from an instant messaging program to a social hub with video chat, activity feeds and other connection options. So, with this new updated test version of Windows Live Messenger, people can send instant messages to those, who are already logged into the Facebook chat. This new messenger service is available only for United States, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Russia and Brazil. But, soon it will be available for other parts of the world as well. Moreover, Microsoft is also updating the other essentials program including the writer, movie maker, sync, family, safety and Windows live photo gallery. Microsoft director, Dharmesh Mehta said that, downloads for this new service will be available later this Tuesday, but the final release of the new Windows Live is planned for the next coming months, as some new features are still yet to be added.
