Browser Google Chrome: first disappointments
8th September 2008
Recently, the new browser from Google, Chrome has become available for downloading.
The browser, positioned by many as “Firefox & IE killer” so far looks very modest and is not very similar to the real pretender to the crown among browsers.
Chrome is not something revolutionary as it is based on the same “engine” as the well known circles browser Apple Safari. So, it can be assumed to have the same future. The point is that while Chrome, though possessing the majority of necessary features, still can not compete with the leaders in functionality.
Thus, it has no support of extensions, the feature characteristic of all decent modern browsers. It does not even have an address bar. In addition, Chrome incorrectly displays sites that use complex scripts Javascript.
All we can hope for is these shortcomings are present only in the beta, to be removed in the near future.
