Canadian government objects to function Street View
18th September 2007
In May this year, Google has added a new option Street View to its maps service, which enables users to go down from a height of a bird flight and become a virtual pedestrians. You can walk along 3D-streets almost like along actual ones, doing sightseeing on your way, looking at houses, turning, if necessary, at 360 grades. So far, this option is only available for several U.S. cities, but soon Google plans to add other cities.
But in Canada people are do not quite look forward to this innovation. The Canadian government believes that Street View could break federal laws of privacy, as images, which are made by a special camera, may contain people, houses, shops and other signs. Canada has formally requested from Google and the company Immersive Media, which makes photographs more information regarding the service.
Once the service was launched, many people began searching the pictures for interesting clips, e.g. people who accidentally hit the frame in any ridiculous position, etc. Today there are many sites where such clips from View Street are demonstrated. This is the matter, that concerns Canadians.
