Firefox 2.0.0.7: updating the popular browser
24th September 2007
Mozilla has released a new version of its Firefox. The browser has a lot of opportunities, due to which it became so popular with users: First, it enables you to open several pages in a single window, thus saving space on your taskbar. Secondly, the browser has a flexible downloads management system and can disable graphics showing on selected pages, rather than on all at once. In addition, Firefox can block pop-ups and manages cookies, has an embedded module for checking spelling and anti-phishing filter for safe surfing.
Firefox 2.0.0.7 eliminates vulnerability in the security system which was related to work with QuickTime media. The vulnerability, which was reported last week by a hacker Petko Petkov, enabled an attacker to run unauthorized commands on the computer. This can be used to install dangerous programs, steal personal data or perform other malicious actions.
