Flock 0.9.1: new generation browser
24th September 2007
A new version of the free browser Flock has come out. Being based on Firefox, this program is positioned as "a communication browser" and differs from competitive products by the large number of options associated with Internet communications. Its creator, who previously participated in the development of Mozilla, said that browsers have changed, but little, in the past ten years, while users` demands have changed greatly. Firefox, he said, though more reliable and convenient than IE, but is still far from ideal.
Therefore, Flock includes not only features for safe surfing, but for reading RSS news, a tool for the exchange of files between users, a convenient means of managing blogs, access to del.icio.us online resource for sharing Internet links and to the service Flickr to share photos. Another interesting feature of the browser-: information, selected by a user on some web page instantly appears in his/her blog.
The latest version corrects many errors in RSS-reader, in the module for managing bookmarks, in module for uploading photos, in the panel Media, finally, in the account management tools.
