The name of director Guillermo del Toro is well known among movie fans. He shoots not only major Hollywood blockbusters such as Hellboy 1-2, Blade 2, but also serious and dramatic movies: “El Laberinto del fauno” (Labyrinth of the Faun). As it turned out, there is another passion in his life besides cinema, video games! In one of his interviews, he blabbed out many interesting things about his passions.
He likes BioShock. He is also a fan of Silent Hill, Resident Evil and Devil May Cry. The director compares the first part of Silent Hill with movies by Lynch, Polanski and Romero. He also appreciated the engine of GTA 4. The gameplay itself did not catch much of his attention, but technologies proved really interesting.
Guillermo del Toro thinks that he can call “masterpieces” only two games: ICO and Shadow of the Colossus. Quite difficult to argue…
