Microsoft Songsmith: commercial MySong

The technology MySong was developed within Microsoft Research by students Washington University.
This technology allows you to quickly generate quality accompaniment for any song that you sing to the microphone. Recently, it has become known that the project will soon find its embodiment in a commercial product, called Microsoft Songsmith. Microsoft has applied to register this brand for the technology MySong. At the moment, Songsmith is an example of the rapid turning the research project into a finished software product. The technology MySong implements an algorithm of automatic selecting chords to any vocal recording. All a users should do is to record his song to a file through the microphone, and the technology MySong chooses chords to this song. The two user-friendly scrawling regulators â€œJazzâ€ and â€œHappyâ€ can change the style of musical accompaniment, making it more jazz, minor or major.
Songsmith is sure to be a hit among teenagers and just creative people. It will have less features than expensive professional programs of this type. However, its moderate price is going to make up for that.
