Mozilla releases Firefox 3.1 Alpha 2
15th September 2008
Mozilla Corporation has presented an updated version of the popular browser Firefox. The second alpha of Firefox 3.1, also known under the code name Shiretoko, focuses exclusively on software developers and testers. Ordinary users are recommended to use a more stable version of Firefox 3.0.1.
The list of long-awaited improvements includes support of tags “video”. These tags, for the first time in HTML5, are expected to be assigned to videos, published on web-sites and viewed through a web-browser. Shiretoko also provides for an opportunity to drag tabs between windows using drag and drop and more closely integrates with the interface of Windows Vista Aero «Glass».
In addition, an updated version can boast high performance in solving a number of specific tasks, in particular, accelerated processing JavaScript scenarios.
