Technology news and updates blog article RasterStitch 2.0: “stitching” together raster images

15th September 2008

VextraSoft Company has introduced a new version of its utility to splice the edges of the neighboring fragments of images. The new version of the package RasterStitch 2.0 provides a new algorithm of splicing edges, which virtually eliminates or minimizes heterogeneity in junction spots of neighboring images.
The package RasterStitch is a convenient tool for creating panoramic images out of several images, as well as for combining individual large scanned fragments of paper documents, including maps, plans, drawings or schemes. To combine the edges and placing the line of the splicing it is sufficient to indicate at neighboring fragments two pairs of overlapping points. After that this program performs the rest of the work automatically.
The package RasterStitch 2.0 supports many raster image formats, including BMP, PCX, TIFF, GIF, JPG, TGA and PNG.
There is also support of splicing large-sized images, automatic definition of points of stitching and smoothing the splicing spots.
Built-in editing tools allow rotating images fragments with a 90-degree step, cropping images to a rectangular frame, given by a user. RasterStitch 2.0 runs under Windows 2000, XP, 2003 and Vista. The single license costs $ 34.95.
