Resident Evil 5: out-of-date navigation?

Journalists, who were lucky enough to play the online demo of Resident Evil 5, noticed with regret that the project inherited navigation from famous Resident Evil 4. Earlier, it was quite an interesting system of controlling the character, but now in 2008 this approach no longer seems original. Hopefully, anything still can change.
Jun Takeuchi from Capcom said that at Tokyo Game Show 2008 another, more modern version of the project will be presented. Its navigation will remind that from Gears of War. Such a sharp jump will probably be noticeable for the series and seriously affect the gameplay.
The release will take place in 2009. Looking forward!
