A new version of the 3D- editor SOFTIMAGE | XSI 6.5 has come out. The program introduces about 30 innovations and improvements, among them being those designed specifically for large clients of Avid-companies Lionhead Studios, Valve, EA, Animal Logic, Nerdcorps, Pandemic and NCSoft. The main innovations include:
Support of visualization card HDR
Additional SDK (Software Developer's Kit) APIs (Application programming interface);
New tools for UV- projection;
Improved work with sound.
The program comes in two versions, Essentials and Advanced. The first is positioned as an editor for creating 3D- characters and other content for games, movies and television. Essentials version now includes plugins Hair & Fur and Syflex Cloth for creating hair and cloth, respectively. The price of the package has increased a slightly because of this fact, compared to the previous version, and is $ 2995. Version SOFTIMAGE | XSI 6.5 XSI Advanced is meant for the technical directors and IT managers of the studios. It contains all features of XSI Essentials plus Behavior module for creating the crowd, and five additional licenses for batch visualization. The price of this version is $ 4995.
