The second version of the virtualization program, VMware Fusion, has come out.
The company VMware has formally introduced the second version of the software for virtualization Fusion.
The package VMware Fusion allows running under Apple with Mac OS X, operating systems of Windows, FreeBSD, Linux and Solaris. Among the key features of the product there is the support of 32-bit and 64-bit software platforms, the ability to run 3D games for Windows and a user-friendly interface.
The package Fusion 2, compared to the version 1.x line, according to VMware, implements more than a hundred innovations, improvements and addons. Among them being the support of Bluetooth devices, software interface Microsoft DirectX 9.0c (Shader Model 2) and ten displays, use on computers equipped with four processors, as well as enhanced support of Linux.
Now you can work with Windows-applications without downloading the desktop of Microsoft software platforms, and as a guest operating system, Mac OS X Leopard Server is permitted. In addition, the developers have improved performance and traditionally improved some bugs.
VMware Fusion 2 costs $80. The product can be purchased through the developers` web site, as well as via online Apple Store, Amazon.com, Buy.com and some others. Users of VMware Fusion 1.x can update to the second version for free.
