Adobe has released a patch for programs of Acrobat family
25th October 2007
Adobe has released an update for the programs Adobe Acrobat Professional and Standard, and for Adobe Reader and Adobe Acrobat 3D for the Mac and Windows platforms. Update to version 8.1.1 closes vulnerability found by a British researcher Petko Petkov about a month ago. The researcher reported about the vulnerability, which could allow hackers to gain access on computer hardware, operating under Windows XP. And, for that to happen, the user only needs to open a PDF file or view a web page with an embedded document.
In addition to the closure of this vulnerability, the update also includes some corrections of errors associated with the PDF forms, and increases the stability of the program.
