Allthingsd: MSN Is In Music Talks With Myspace

A report in the city of Washington has told that Microsoft's MSN is now in talks with the social network MySpace for the purpose of using the social networks for itself. MySpace Music is thought to be helping the power music offerings on the online portal of the software giant, the technology blog AllThingsD have said this on Tuesday.

AllThingsD have said that the talks between these two were preliminary and it did not become clear that what would be the financial terms in the case if anything ties up between MSN and the social network MySpace.

It has further said that an agreement can also include the licensing of the content and some other services which are related to music, where MySpace had to make a heavy push in a bid in order to differentiate itself from its rival Facebook.

Microsoft also has its own music site, which is called MSN Music, but unfortunately it draws less traffic as compared to other music sites, as according to AllThingsD, which is owned by a publisher of The Wall Street Journal, Dow Jones.

News Corporation owns Dow Jones and it also owns MySpace. According to the figures that are from comScore as cited by AllThingsD, AOL Music has attracted 27.4 million of the unique monthly visitors in the month of April followed by MySpace Music. The music of MSN was on the sixth number with having only 7.4 million unique monthly visitors.
