Amazon Reveals The Kindle Software For Windows 7 OS

Kindle is not for Kindle readers anymore. Amazon has already launched a Kindle application for iPhone, and during the Windows 7 OS launch this Thursday, it was announced by the online retailer that Kindle software for Windows 7 would be released during the next month and also a version for Mac will be released after that.

Mike Nash, the corporate vice president of the strategy of Windows Platform said that the customers told them as they want to access a wider range of content and an increased diverse set of form factors. He added that with Kindle's announcement for PC, Amazon is trying to make its massive selection of Kindle books, and making them available on the most widely used platform of the world.

Amazon promoted this development both as a companion for present Kindle readers and as a gateway for the new customers. With its ability to sale e-books without selling a reading device costing $259, Amazon can greatly increase the penetration of Kindle format in the market.

Ian Freed, the vice president of Amazon Kindle said that the Kindle for PC is perfect application for those who have owned a Kindle or the Kindle DX. Further he added that Kindle for PC is a good way for those people around the world who read the most famous books of today even if they do not own Kindle yet.
