Star Wars: The Force Unleashed officially became the best-selling game in USA in September 2008, report experts from NPD Group. In total, there were more than 600 thousand boxes sold.
The list of the most popular console games in September also includes:
Wii Fit (Nintendo, Wii): 518000 copies;
Rock Band 2 (Harmonix, Xbox 360): 363000 copies;
Mario Kart Wii (Nintendo, Wii): 353000 copies;
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (LucasArts, PlayStation 3): 325000 copies;
Mercenaries 2: World in Flames (Pandemic, Xbox 360): 297000 copies;
Wii Play (Nintendo, Wii): 243000 copies;
Madden NFL 09 (EA Tiburon, Xbox 360): 224000 copies;
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (Krome, Wii): 223000 copies;
Madden NFL 09 (EA Tiburon, PlayStation 2): 158000 copies.
As for the hardware market, here Xbox 360 shows real miracles: its sales almost doubled from the previous month. However, this does not help it to beat up Wii.
The best-selling consoles in September:
Wii: 687000 units;
Nintendo DS: 536000 units;
Xbox 360: 347000 units;
PSP: 238000 units; PlayStation 3: 232000 units;
PlayStation 2: 173000 units.
