Beta version of Windows XP Service Pack 3 is available for testers.
11th October 2007
Beta testers of Windows Vista SP1 and Windows Server 2008 received a letter from Microsoft, which reports of the availability of the beta version of Windows XP Service Pack 3. This will be the last update package to the operating system, first released in 2001.
The third package of updates for Windows XP practically does not contain any innovations. It includes all updates released since coming out of Service Pack 2 (more than a hundred, on the whole), as well as some new ones. For example, Service Pack 3 adds XP with the network security feature (Network Access Protection), which is already introduced in Windows Vista.
The final version of the package will be available in the first half of next year.
